“Let me see that one,” Tarquin says. “Who’ve they got in it?”
Ashur flips the page and quickly skims the text. “No one of interest.”
“No?” Tarquin asks. “Who’s truly on the side of the people, then?”
Ashur says, “You’ll like this—it says Dorian’s motivations are ‘uncertain.’”
Tarquin snorts. “Yeah, one of the founding members of the Lucerni. Really uncertain, that. Never been quite sure how he feels about slavery.”
Ashur folds the paper back up and hands it to Tarquin. “Now’s not the time,” he says. “Take it back to headquarters and we’ll pin it up on the wall for everyone.”
You and Tarquin both laugh at that. “The Imperium Secret would be interesting,” you say, “if only it printed anything vaguely accurate.”
Until it does, though, it’s not going to help you with finding Neve.
