Cida’s newest song is fantastic—a kind of upbeat revision of an old Tevinter folk song about a dangerous blood mage and the wily elven slave who won his heart and made him swear never to do magic again. Tarquin rolls his eyes all the way through it, but Ashur nudges him with an elbow.
“Show me one man in Tevinter who’d swear off magic for anyone,” says Tarquin. “Show me one man in Tevinter who’d listen to a slave long enough to think about it.”
Ashur sighs. “It’s not history, Tarquin, it’s culture.”
“Yeah, well,” says Tarquin, “maybe your culture and my culture aren’t the same.”
Disagreements about the veracity of the song’s lyrics aside, you all agree it’s a great show—but, unfortunately, your decision to delay has meant that any leads you might have had on Neve have long since gone cold. Hope it was worth it!
