At this point, subtlety seems more important than speed. (After all, there’s a reason you chose to bring Mae rather than Dorian.)
“We don’t know what’s waiting for us inside,” you say. “Let’s play it safe.”
Mae nods. “This way, then.”
She leads you around the side of the huge stone-and-glass construct and you can’t help but marvel at the designs etched into its walls and pillars, the striking strangeness of the Claws of Dumat and the Imperium Wyrm rendered in a distinctly dwarven style. The subterranean origins of its designers and architects are obvious from this close, something you’ve rarely experienced when hurrying past on a normal day in the rain.
The door Mae indicates is cleverly hidden, almost invisible in the carved patterns. You slip through it and hurry up through a narrow, but richly appointed series of corridors and staircases. Looks like magisters get the best of everything even when they’re just going from one place to the next.
